Deceased Estate Rubbish Removal in Melbourne’s Outer East
Respectful, Practical Help From a Local Husband-and-Wife Team
Clearing a property after someone has passed away can place a great deal of work and pressure on the family. Tref and Wendy provide hands-on rubbish removal for suitable smaller deceased estates across Knox, Maroondah and the selected Yarra Ranges suburbs we service.
Once you have decided what will be kept, sold or passed on to family, we can load and remove the suitable unwanted items and rubbish that remain. Send Wendy photos of the items and access to the property for a free quote, or we can arrange an on-site assessment when the job needs a closer look.

When Clearing the Estate Has Become Too Much to Manage
Every family handles loss differently. One person may be ready to clear the property while another needs more time or finds it difficult to let certain belongings go. Decisions can become emotional, family members may disagree, and the practical work often ends up falling on one person.
We have experience working respectfully with families during this stage. Our role is not to decide what should go or rush anyone into making decisions. Once the family has agreed on what can be removed, we follow those instructions and take care of the suitable rubbish and unwanted items.
Sometimes asking someone outside the family to complete the final clearance is simply faster, easier and less stressful for everyone involved.
Three Practical Ways to Clear a Deceased Estate
There is no single clearance method that suits every deceased estate. The right choice depends on the amount and weight of the belongings, access to the property, the time available and how much physical work the family can manage.
Your three main clearance options are:
Use Your Own Vehicle or Trailer
This can suit a small amount of rubbish when family members are available to sort, lift and load everything themselves. Remember to allow for trailer hire, disposal fees and the time required to make several trips.
Hire a Skip Bin
A skip bin can be practical when there is a larger volume of manageable material, suitable space for the bin and people available to do the loading. The family remains responsible for carrying everything outside and placing it in the skip.
Use a Full-Service Rubbish Removal Team
This option suits families who want the loading, transport and disposal handled for them. You identify what can be removed, and the rubbish removal team completes the agreed physical work.
Larger deceased estates may require a combination of full-service rubbish removal and skip bins. Our detailed guide explains the advantages and limitations of each option to help families choose the most practical approach.
Deceased Estate Clearances Best Suited to Our Service
Our husband-and-wife team is best suited to smaller deceased estates where the remaining items are light, manageable and accessible. This commonly includes units, townhouses, flats, retirement properties and smaller houses.
A clearance is more likely to suit our service when:
The family has finished sorting and clearly separated everything being kept.
Most remaining items weigh no more than approximately 15 kilograms each or can be dismantled into lighter pieces.
Pathways, steps and access between the property and our vehicle are clear and safe.
The ground is firm and reasonably level.
The job can be completed using our ute and trailer or a skip bin, without heavy lifting equipment.
Properties Not Suited To Our Services:
Large, fully furnished houses
Houses with lots of steps
Properties with steep driveways
Unsafe properties with slippery and muddy surfaces
clearances containing substantial amounts of heavy furniture may require skip bins, a larger removal team or a combination of services.
We will always be honest when another option would be safer or more practical for you to use.

You Keep What Matters — We Take Care of What Is Left
Before the final clearance begins, the family decides which belongings will be kept, passed on, sold or retained for sentimental reasons. These items should be removed from the collection area or clearly separated and marked so there is no uncertainty about what stays.
Once those decisions have been made, we can load and remove the suitable unwanted items and rubbish that remain. Usable belongings may be taken to charitable or reuse organisations when they are in acceptable condition and the organisation can receive them. We also separate recyclable materials where practical and dispose of everything else through appropriate waste facilities.
We cannot guarantee that every usable item will be accepted for donation, but we will always look for a responsible alternative to landfill when one is reasonably available.
Send Photos or Arrange an On-Site Assessment
The quickest way to begin is to text Wendy on 0417 514 763 or email us several clear photos of the estate.
Please include:
The unwanted items remaining in each room, garage, shed or outdoor area.
Any larger or heavier items that may need to be dismantled.
Hallways, doorways, steps and pathways we would use.
The driveway or parking area where our ute and trailer could be positioned.
Include a brief description of the property and anything the photos may not show clearly. If the job can be accurately assessed from this information, we can provide a free quote by telephone or email.
For larger or more complicated clearances, we can arrange an on-site assessment before confirming the price and the work included.
We Remove the Rubbish — Professional Cleaners Handle the Final Clean
Our role is to load and remove the agreed unwanted belongings and suitable rubbish from the house and surrounding property. We work carefully, avoid unnecessary damage and leave the collection areas reasonably tidy after everything has been loaded.
We do not provide deep cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, window cleaning, carpet cleaning or the detailed final clean often required before a property is photographed, sold or handed over. Once the rubbish removal has been completed, a professional property-cleaning service can take care of those finishing jobs.
Keeping the two services separate ensures the rubbish removal and final cleaning are each handled by people equipped for that particular work.
