Fair Prices. Honest Service. Rubbish Gone.
Supportive Rubbish Removal for Clutter and Hoarding Situations
Patient, Non-Judgemental Help Across Melbourne’s Outer East
When belongings and rubbish have accumulated over time, knowing where to begin can feel overwhelming. Tref and Wendy provide patient, hands-on rubbish removal for suitable clutter and hoarding-related situations across Knox, Maroondah and the selected Yarra Ranges suburbs we service.
You decide what stays and what can be removed. We will not judge your home, pressure you into making decisions or take anything without your clear permission. Start by speaking with Wendy or sending photos of the items and access to the property. We will assess the situation honestly, explain how we may be able to help and provide a free quote when the job suits our service.

Patient Clutter Removal When Letting Go Feels Difficult
Clutter does not always build up because someone does not care about their home. Illness, injury, bereavement, reduced mobility, family responsibilities or years of postponed decisions can gradually make belongings and rubbish difficult to manage. Once the situation feels overwhelming, embarrassment or fear of being judged can make asking for help even harder.
We have experience working with people who find parting with accumulated belongings difficult. We arrive without criticism, lectures or demands for an explanation. Our role is to make the rubbish removal side more manageable and help the agreed items leave the property at a steady, respectful pace.
You do not need to justify how your home reached this point. We focus on the practical next step and treat you, your belongings and your property with respect.
You Decide What Stays and What Leaves
An item that looks unimportant to someone else may hold a memory, feel useful or simply require more time before a decision can be made. We do not decide what has value, tell you what should be discarded or remove belongings because another person considers them rubbish.
Before loading begins, the items being removed must be clearly identified. You can point them out, place them in an agreed collection area or mark them so there is no uncertainty. If an item has not been clearly approved for removal, it stays at the property.
A family member, friend or trusted support person can assist when you want them involved. You remain in control, and you can pause the work or leave uncertain items for another day. When in doubt, we stop and ask.

Start With One Manageable Area at a Time
You do not have to clear the entire property in one visit. For many people, beginning with a smaller and clearly defined goal feels more achievable than facing every room and every decision at once.
The first collection might focus on:
One room or part of a room.
A hallway or access path that needs more space.
A garage, shed or storage area.
A group of boxes, bags or unwanted household items.
An agreed pile that is already ready for removal.
Completing one manageable area allows you to see progress without creating pressure to make every decision immediately. If the first collection goes well, further stages can be arranged when you feel ready, and the work remains suitable for our team.
Each stage is assessed and quoted according to the items being removed at that time, so you remain in control of both the pace and the cost.
Hoarding-Related Rubbish Removal We Can Safely Handle
Every cluttered property is different. We assess the job according to the items, access and working conditions—not the appearance of the home or the circumstances that allowed the belongings to accumulate.
Our husband-and-wife team is best suited to jobs where:
The clean-up is small to medium or can be divided into manageable stages.
The items being removed are clearly identified and reasonably accessible.
Individual items generally weigh no more than 15 kilograms.
Bulky items can be dismantled into lighter sections.
There is a clear and stable route between the collection area and our vehicle.
We do not need to climb over belongings or work beneath unstable piles.
Floors, steps and pathways are firm, dry and reasonably level.
Our ute and trailer can be parked within a practical distance of the property.
We may be able to help with one room, a garage, a shed, an established collection area or selected rubbish from several parts of the home. We cannot safely work where the access route is blocked, unstable or conceals hazards that cannot be identified before the job begins.
When Specialist Cleaning or Remediation Is Required
Some cluttered properties contain conditions that require trained psychologists, protective equipment and cleaning methods beyond ordinary rubbish removal. Declining these jobs is never a judgement about the person or their home—it is necessary to protect everyone involved.
We cannot work around or remove:
Human or animal waste, urine or faeces.
Rotting food or household garbage containing putrescible waste.
Needles, sharps, medical waste or unidentified medication.
Asbestos or materials suspected of containing asbestos.
Chemicals, paint, oils, gas bottles or other hazardous substances.
Significant mould, pest infestations or contaminated materials.
Unstable piles, damaged flooring or unsafe structures.
Items concealed beneath waste when the potential hazards cannot be identified.
We also do not provide deep cleaning, disinfecting, odour treatment, pest control, professional organising, counselling or hoarding therapy. These situations require appropriately trained cleaning, remediation or support professionals.
Once a specialist has removed the hazards and made the property safe, we may be able to assess the remaining light and manageable rubbish for removal.
How We Assess and Quote Supportive Clutter Removal
We understand that showing someone a cluttered part of your home can feel uncomfortable. The photos and information you provide are used to help us understand the work involved—not to judge you or your property.
Tell Wendy About the Situation
You can contact Wendy yourself or ask a family member, friend or trusted support person to enquire on your behalf. Tell us which area you would like to begin with, what you hope to remove and anything we should know about the property access.
Send Clear Photos of the Agreed Area
Photograph the items from several angles and include the route between the collection area and where our ute and trailer would be parked. If bags, boxes or containers are included, explain what is inside them.
We can only quote for items that are visible in the photos or clearly described. Concealed rubbish or additional items presented on collection day may affect the final price.
Receive an Honest Assessment
We consider the amount and type of rubbish, individual item weights, access, working conditions and disposal charges. Straightforward jobs may be quoted from the photos. Larger, staged or less clearly defined jobs may require an on-site assessment.
If the job suits our service, we will provide a clear quote for the agreed items. Any price change will be discussed with you before additional rubbish is loaded. If the property requires specialist help or is unsafe for our team, we will explain this honestly.
When an Hourly Rate May Be More Appropriate
We can usually provide a fixed-price quote when the items being removed have already been identified or decisions continue at a reasonable and steady pace. We will never rush someone into parting with their belongings, and normal conversations or short pauses will not affect the agreed price.
An hourly rate may be required when the work involves frequent or extended delays while individual items are considered, or when loading repeatedly stops while decisions are made. This reflects the additional time we must reserve for the job rather than the amount of rubbish removed.
Some customers may choose to have a counsellor, psychologist or trusted support professional present to help them work through difficult decisions. We provide rubbish removal rather than counselling, and the presence of a support person does not automatically determine how the job is priced.
Any hourly rate and its conditions will be explained and agreed upon before the booking. If the decision-making process becomes too difficult or distressing, the removal can be paused and continued at another suitable time.

Take the First Step When You Feel Ready
Asking for help can be the hardest part. You do not need to have the entire property sorted or know exactly how much you are ready to remove. Begin by telling Wendy about one manageable area and what you would like to achieve.
You can contact us yourself or ask a family member, friend or trusted support person to enquire with your permission. We will listen without judgement, explain whether the job appears suitable for our service and discuss a practical way to begin.
Complete the enquiry form below, call or text Wendy on 0417 514 763, or email wendy@rubbishwrestlers.com.au. The form cannot receive attachments, so please send photos separately by text or email.
There is no pressure to book and no expectation that everything must be cleared at once.
